Contact sensors are the most commonly used sensor type when securing homes and with good reason. They protect the very shell of your home which is its doors and windows and they are the only sensors that can detect intruders before they are actually inside your home.
Contacts sensors consists of two small parts. One is mounted in the frame and one on the door or window itself. When the door or window is opened the sensor immediately sets off the alarm and will notify both you and everybody you have added to the alarm system. It will also start sounding both the hub’s build in siren and any external ones you might have connected.
You can always see which doors and windows that are open and closed in the app and you will even be reminded to close any open doors or windows when you get ready to leave the house and arm your security system.
Contact sensors are a great way of using you alarm system when you are home alone, as you can move around freely inside the house and be confident the alarm will go off if somebody tries to get in. They are also the perfect match in homes with bigger dogs where motion sensors will not do the trick.
Contact sensors are quickly installed on your doors and windows using the included double adhesive tape and because the magnet part will work on both side of the sensor, it will fit onto almost every door or window frame out there.
